Our main mission as an organization was to build a community center for children and families living in the Favela slum, Gramacho. We saw this center come to life in 2019 and continue to grow and expand. Throughout the years of learning about the community, we realized that so many today have no real understanding of how the favelas were formed. Still today, young families are living with a lack of clean water, sanitation, and nutritious food. Criminality, violence, and trafficking are at an all-time high.
Despite these harsh realities, some people simply love this community. These people are committed to helping one person at a time. Whether it be being able to get identification papers, give birth somewhere safe, or receive dental and medical care. Our leaders truly live out “Loving your neighbor.”
We want to share the important stories of the favelas with the world. Our Documentary is about the favelas’ history, and real life in these communities, but ultimately about how Love and Compassion is changing one person, one family at a time.
With the help of professional street skateboarders with a heart for Brazil, we will venture to the favela slum to show the world an inside view of these communities, the reality of needs, and more importantly joy, love, and how Loving your Neighbor can change one story at a time.
